This page is our single, up-to-date source of information on this matter. We will update it as our review progresses, so please check back for the latest.
Over the past few days, questions have been raised about how referral links on Prop Firm Match worked, including differing accounts of what happened. We believe it is important to address these concerns through verified facts. Rather than to respond to individual claims, we will share the findings of our review here.
This first update covers our preliminary internal assessment of the redirect functionality disabled on 29 October 2026.
What happened
Our review shows that, from October 2025, clicking “Copy Code” or “Buy” for a firm on our website opened the page the trader chose in a new tab, and sent the original tab through that firm’s affiliate link. From March 2026, this functionality also applied to clicks on a firm’s name and logo in some sections of our website.
On 29 October 2026, we disabled this for all firms. On 31 October, we removed it from our live website. We have preserved the relevant records for the review.
What we have established so far
Based on the technical assessment and data reviewed by our development and analytics teams to date:
-
The functionality did not operate without a user-initiated click.
-
It opened only the affiliate link of the firm the trader selected.
-
It did not involve hidden iframes or invisible pixels.
-
It ran within Prop Firm Match’s own website code. Our technical review to date has not identified it on any partner firm’s website.
-
It did not change the prices traders paid or the discounts they received.
-
When a trader later clicked another affiliate’s link or used that affiliate’s code, under most of the attribution models reviewed, the sale would be credited to the last click or code used.
What we have changed
-
Traders now reach a firm’s website from Prop Firm Match through a clearly labelled checkout panel or promo panel.
-
These panels show, before you continue, when Prop Firm Match may earn a commission. For firms we do not have an affiliate agreement with, a neutral notice is shown and no affiliate link is used.
-
We will tell our partners in advance about any future change that materially affects how referrals reach them.
Where our review stands (work in progress)
-
Review: our internal review is under way, focusing on how the functionality operated and how referral attribution was recorded (or processed).
-
Early findings: our initial review covers the 46 partner firms integrated with TrackNow and is based on the transaction and referral attribution information reviewed to date for purchases between 1 June 2026 and 29 October 2026. Our early, modelled estimate indicates that the potential impact on referral attribution represents a low single-digit percentage of the commissions Prop Firm Match earned from most firms. That said, there are individual differences based on attribution model which will be reviewed directly with each firm.
-
Wider check: we are working with partners not integrated with TrackNow, and reviewing the months before June 2026, to check our findings against their own records.
-
Next update: we will update this page as our review progresses.
How we are working with our partners
We will invite each firm to discuss our preliminary findings with us and to compare and reconcile them against the firm's own records. Where any discrepancies in commission attribution are verified, we will work with the relevant firm to agree on how they should be addressed, taking into account the applicable affiliate arrangements.
Partners can contact us at partners@propfirmmatch.com.
How we are supporting traders
Prices, MATCH codes, discounts and loyalty points all work as before. If you have a question or a request, including about your personal data, please contact our support team at support@propfirmmatch.com.
Prop Firm Match continues to operate as normal.
Our comparison tools, reviews, offers, and MATCH codes are all available as usual, and we continue to work with our partner firms. We remain committed to transparency with our focus on completing the review properly and keeping you updated through this page.
FAQ for Traders
What happens now when I click a prop firm on Prop Firm Match?
Clicking a firm's logo or name, or copying a MATCH code no longer opens the firm's website or any partner link. When you choose to visit a firm's website through our checkout panel or promo panel, you will be informed beforehand if Prop Firm Match may earn a commission.
What used to happen?
Clicking "Copy Code" or "Buy" features on PFM opened the relevant firm's affiliate link in the existing browser tab, while the intended page opened in a new tab. From March 2026, this functionality was extended to certain firm names and logos in some sections of our website. We disabled the functionality on 29 October 2026 and removed the associated code on 31 October 2026.
Does Prop Firm Match earn a commission at my expense?
No. Referral commissions are paid by the participating prop firms. The referral functionality does not add any charge or change the discounts available to you.
If I use another creator's discount code, who receives credit for my purchase?
The prop firm determines how purchases are credited under its affiliate program, including how discount codes and referral links are treated. This may vary from firm to firm. Prop Firm Match does not set these rules.
How do I know when Prop Firm Match earns a commission?
Checkout and promo panels inform you when PFM may earn a commission before you proceed.
Does this affect my loyalty points or discounts?
No. The changes to our referral functionality do not affect your MATCH codes, available discounts or loyalty points.
Why can’t I see offers from some firms anymore?
Offers from certain firms may no longer be available on PFM website following changes to our partnership agreement. Where partnership agreement is no longer active, we do not display the associated offers.
I bought a challenge through Prop Firm Match from a firm that’s no longer a partner. What happens?
Your challenge is a purchase from the prop firm and continues under that firm’s own terms and conditions. Our partnership with the firm is separate from your agreement with the firm. For questions about your challenge, please contact the prop firm. If you need help, you can also contact our support team.
How can I raise a concern or complaint?
For any enquiries or concerns, please contact support@propfirmmatch.com.
FAQ for Partners
Did Prop Firm Match place cookies or scripts on our website?
No. PFM’s code ran only on our own website and did not place cookies or scripts on partner websites. When a trader was sent through one of our partner links, the referral cookie was set by the partner’s own website or tracking platform, as with any affiliate link. We are reviewing how these interactions may have affected attribution under each partner's tracking configuration.
How are referrals attributed to Prop Firm Match?
Referral attribution is determined by the applicable affiliate program rules and tracking configurations, which may include attribution windows, first-click or last-click models and promotional code priority. The application of attribution rules may vary between partners.
How is credit decided when a trader has used more than one affiliate?
Referral attribution is determined by each partner's applicable tracking rules and configuration, including how multiple affiliate interactions are handled. PFM does not control or modify these attribution mechanisms. We are inviting partners to review this as part of our review. Where a partner identifies a referral that may have been credited to the wrong affiliate, we will review it with that partner and address any verified discrepancy.
How did the previous referral functionality work?
Clicking "Copy Code" or "Buy" features on PFM opened the relevant firm's affiliate link in the existing browser tab, while the intended page opened in a new tab. From March 2026, this functionality was extended to certain firm names and logos in some sections of our website.
The functionality was disabled on 29 October 2026, and the associated code was removed on 31 October 2026.
Did the referral functionality affect the price paid by the traders?
No. The functionality did not change the price paid by the trader or the discount code used by them.
What now triggers a Prop Firm Match referral?
Following the changes implemented on 29 October 2026, the functionality that previously opened affiliate links through certain website interactions has been disabled. Referral links remain available through designated checkout or promotional features, where traders are informed that PFM may earn a commission.
We don't have an affiliate agreement with Prop Firm Match. Do your links still reference us?
No. Firms without an affiliate agreement now show a neutral notice at checkout, and that checkout uses no affiliate link.
What should we do if we have concerns about sales attributed to Prop Firm Match?
Please contact your partner manager or partners@propfirmmatch.com. We are reviewing historical referral data and will work with partners to assess any identified discrepancies against the applicable attribution rules and contractual terms. Where adjustments are warranted, we will discuss the appropriate resolution with the relevant partner.
How will we find out the potential impact for our firm?
We are reviewing the findings on a partner-by-partner basis and will share relevant information with each partner as the review progresses.
We have ended our partnership with Prop Firm Match. Can we still take part in the review?
Yes. Our invitation to review the findings is open to every firm we have worked with, including firms that have ended their partnership with us. Please contact partners@propfirmmatch.com.
