Summary
On January 12th, 2025, I was breached on my funded account for trading the USTEC index (Nasdaq). The firm had sent on Discord an announcement the day before (15th), classifying December 16th as an “All Day News Event” due to PMI releases. However, the announcement explicitly stated: "Affected Markets: All currency pairs will be impacted." Based on this, I avoided trading currency pairs entirely and placed one trade on USTEC — which is an index, not a currency pair. I also made sure to avoid the PMI release time window, just in case. Despite following the announcement word for word, I was breached. When I appealed, I was told that "currency pairs = indices", and that all instruments were restricted, even though that was not stated anywhere in the official communication. I explained the inconsistency but the support team shut the case down without further review. They gave me a Phase 1 retry account and called the matter final. This felt extremely unfair and rigid, especially when the breach was based on poor communication and mixed definitions on their end. I’ve seen other firms treat traders more respectfully and transparently in similar cases.
