I attempted 4 Apex Trader Funding evaluation accounts. Unfortunately, I did not pass any of them, so this review is based purely on my real trading experience, not payouts or promotions. The biggest thing I liked about Apex is the ability to scale up to 20 funded accounts, which is a huge advantage compared to most prop firms. This gives traders real earning potential once consistency is achieved. Combined with the low evaluation cost and clear rules, the scaling model makes Apex attractive for traders who are confident in their execution and want to grow size gradually rather than rely on a single account.
The main downside for me was the trailing drawdown, especially how it continues to trail unrealized profits. Even after building a buffer, one small mistake or a losing trade can still violate the drawdown, which adds constant psychological pressure. This makes trading feel more about protecting the drawdown than executing the strategy, and it can be particularly difficult for intraday traders and scalpers.

Im still waiting for them to tell an exact reason for the denial and the ban. They charged me for a whole year without excuse, and now they have an issue to pay me without giving a reason and provide a fair conversation. They blocked me from everywhere. Not fair.

Nunca logré alcanzar payout con ellos porque tienen muchas reglas, las llamaría "escondidas a plena vista", no es una firma construida para los traders. Es más bien en su contra y buscando razones para que fallen. Aparte de esto, están bien, el dashboard está bien, tienen Tradovate y nunca he tenido problemas reales.

Even though they always give big discount for their evaluation and PA fees, they don't care how you pass the evaluation and always try to find a way to decline your payout by introducing BUNCH of payout rules comparing to other futures prop firm and trailing EQUITY drawdown but not balance drawdown. In my opinion not a good propfirm to trade with.

Honestly, the thing I liked most about APEX Trader Funding is the low barrier to entry. Thanks to their frequent 80–90% discount codes, almost anyone can afford to try an evaluation. That’s appealing, especially for new or curious traders who want to dip their toes into futures without risking too much upfront capital. Another positive is that they offer unlimited retries as long as you keep paying the monthly fee, which gives traders more flexibility compared to firms that limit attempts or charge restart fees. However, these surface-level advantages are quickly overshadowed by the unfair structure behind the scenes — especially the trailing drawdown system and strict payout rules. For serious traders with well-developed strategies, the environment ends up being restrictive, stressful, and not conducive to real long-term success.
What I liked the least about APEX Trader Funding is without question the Trailing Drawdown system — especially how it includes open unrealized profits (PnL) and keeps following your balance until you hit your peak. This single rule completely distorts how you can trade, forcing you into scalping just to survive. It punishes any trader who wants to hold positions longer than a few minutes. You're constantly walking a tightrope where even a small pullback in an otherwise winning trade can blow the account — not because you were wrong, but because the drawdown system is so aggressive. Even worse, this drawdown continues into the Funded (Performance) Account, meaning you're still under heavy pressure even after "passing". It creates a false sense of progress — you might "get funded" quickly, but you're not really allowed to trade like a real trader. That's what felt the most unfair and disheartening.

Apex offers one of the lowest monthly fees, especially during their 80% off promotions, but the $130 activation fee is almost twice as high as some other firms. The trailing drawdown can be restrictive—if your strategy needs consolidation or a pullback, you may be stopped out too soon. On top of that, the lack of live chat support is frustrating in today’s fast-paced environment, as having to write an email for every query can be time-consuming and inconvenient.

Obtuve una evaluación usando Quantower. Al hacer trading en evaluación sin problemas y pasé. Cuando obtuve la cuenta PA, Quantower me desconecta constantemente y el spread es más alto también. El slippage también siempre ocurre. Como estaba tradingando con Project X con mi cuenta fondeada también, y cuando el setup de trade está aquí, hay lag y desconexión, pero sin problemas en la cuenta de evaluación.

En general, estoy muy satisfecho con mi experiencia en Apex como day trader de futuros de Nasdaq. Sus precios para desafíos de cuenta son líderes en la industria cuando factorizas sus ventas casi constantes. Una vez que pasas un challenge, pagas una única cuota de activación y luego puedes intentar desafíos adicionales para aumentar tu capital sin una cuota de activación adicional, lo cual es fantástico. Tradeo a través de TradingView usando Tradovate y los fills/ejecuciones son buenos.
