ThinkCapital Leverage Explained

Leverage determines how much market exposure a trader can control relative to their account balance. At ThinkCapital, leverage availability varies by both the challenge type and the asset being traded.

The table below outlines the current leverage limits offered by ThinkCapital across supported asset classes and evaluation models. This breakdown helps traders quickly identify where leverage is available — and where it is restricted — before selecting a challenge.

How to Interpret This Leverage Table

At ThinkCapital, leverage is currently available only within the 2-Step evaluation model. The Instant, 1-Step, and 3-Step challenges do not support leveraged trading for the asset classes listed above.

This means traders who rely on leverage must specifically choose the 2-Step challenge when trading with ThinkCapital.

Asset-Wise Leverage Overview at ThinkCapital

Forex (1:100)
Forex trading at ThinkCapital offers the highest leverage, providing greater flexibility for position sizing and margin usage.

Metals (1:40)
Metal instruments are offered with moderate leverage to account for higher intraday volatility and wider price movements.

Indices (1:20)
Indices at ThinkCapital are capped at lower leverage levels to help manage exposure during volatile market sessions and major news events.

Crypto (1:5)
Crypto trading carries the most conservative leverage due to sharp price fluctuations and increased risk.

Other Commodities (1:40)
Other commodities are offered with moderate leverage, balancing volatility with capital efficiency.

What This Leverage Structure Means for Traders

Based on this leverage setup, ThinkCapital may be more suitable for:

  • Traders using structured risk management
  • Swing or position traders
  • Traders primarily focused on FX and metals

Scalpers or traders who require leverage across multiple challenge types may find the firm more restrictive outside the 2-Step evaluation model.

Next Steps After Reviewing ThinkCapital Leverage

After reviewing leverage availability, traders typically explore challenge details and trading rules before making a decision.

To understand which evaluation models support leveraged trading, you can review ThinkCapital Challenges to compare account types, profit targets, and drawdown limits.

To see how leverage interacts with daily loss limits, maximum drawdown, and restricted trading conditions, reviewing ThinkCapital Trading Rules is strongly recommended.

For broader context, you can also compare leverage across prop firms to see how ThinkCapital stacks up against other platforms.
