The people. A*** has always been approachable and supportive throughout my trading journey, and I’ve learnt a great deal from G**** during the 1:1 mentoring sessions I had many years ago. Alpha was the first prop firm I traded with, and for over three years my overall experience has been positive.

My payout was denied because Alpha Capital stated that some of my trades were initiated shortly before high-impact news and closed shortly afterwards, which they deemed speculative under their gambling policy. I respectfully disagree with this decision, as these trades were consistent with my normal trading style over the past three years. I respected the 2 minute news window. I respect the 1% cooling window and I’ve held my trades for longer than 2 minutes. Despite this being told I’m gambling doesn’t sit right with me. This experience has caused me to be fearful when executing trades. I asked for further clarification but did not feel I received a clear explanation of how the decision was reached. While I respect the firm’s right to enforce its rules, I believe this particular decision was unfair and lacked sufficient transparency.

ACG’s reason was an alleged breach of its Maximum Lot / exposure restriction on US500. What I liked most: The static, balance-based Daily Loss and Maximum Loss limits. Unlike an equity-trailing drawdown, the limits were predictable and gave me a fixed risk framework to plan trades around. I also found the evaluation structure and ability to trade forex, indices and metals broadly suitable for my style.
What I liked least: The handling of the Maximum Lot rule and payout review. A single lot cap is not a consistent measure of risk across forex, indices and metals because contract sizes, tick values, volatility and stop-loss distances differ. The rule was not shown as an active account-specific dashboard limit or accompanied by a real-time warning. Despite ACG’s prior approval of my Risk Management EA for position sizing, two alleged instances were identified only retrospectively during payout review and treated as hard breaches, leading to denial of a $1,603 payout and removal of the account. Customer support responded, but did not accept responsibility for the unclear rule application, EA approval, or lack of warning.

ACG denied my $1,603 payout on 13 August 2026 and removed funded account 2801503, saying it had identified two Maximum Lot / exposure breaches on US500 during payout review. I received no dashboard alert, real-time block or warning when either instance occurred. Before the trades, ACG had approved my Risk Management EA in writing on 19 February 2026 and specifically approved it for account 2801503 on 8 July 2026. I chose every trade myself; the EA only calculated position size from my selected monetary risk and stop-loss distance. ACG later said EA approval did not override the Maximum Lot rule. My concern is that a single lot cap is not a consistent measure of risk across forex, indices and metals, and the applicable limit was not visible as an active account-specific dashboard rule. I consider retrospective enforcement at payout stage, without warning, unfair.
